It’s Mardi Gras day here in New Orleans, the culmination of the Mardi Gras season. Mardi Gras means “Fat Tuesday”, and historically is a celebration prior to beginning the Lenten period on Ash Wednesday. I’ll be heading out with the wife and kids for a few hours this morning to catch a few parades and enjoy the day.
