Weekend Roundup- The Bailout Edition

by RC on September 29, 2008

There still hasn’t been an agreement on the 700 billion dollar bailout of Wall Street, but two personal finance bloggers “bailed out” two blog carnivals I participated in this week! A special thanks to David at My Two Dollars and Pinyo at Moolanomy for stepping up to the plate and taking care of business. If we could only get members of congress to do the same, they might reach an agreement on the economic bailout package!

The Festival of Frugality #144- The Host Bailed Out Edition was hosted at My Two Dollars, and included my article “Free Money Saving Tips- 66 Ways to Save Money”. Other articles I enjoyed from the FOF:

Brand Spankin Used at Gather Little By Little- I’m a big fan of buying things used, and have never bought a brand new car.

Just Because You Clip It Doesn’t Mean You Have To Buy It at I’ve Paid For This Twice Already- Very true, I always clip more coupons than I use.

Pinyo at Moolanomy hosted the Money Hacks Carnival #31-Crisis and Bailout Edition, and included my article “The Freshman Fund-A Great Idea for Increasing 529 Plan College Savings”

Other articles I enjoyed:

How I Found A Good Auto Mechanic at The Happy Rock. Finding a good auto mechanic can save you money and worry.

How To Draft A Basic Financial Savings Plan at Blueprint for Financial Prosperity.-A great step by step guide to getting started.

The Mighty Bargain Hunter fulfilled his obligation on time (and under budget?) and hosted the Finance Fiesta, Buzzer Beater Edition and included my article “The Peril of Living Paycheck to Paycheck-Are You One Step Away from Financial Disaster?”

My favorites from the Fiesta:

This Weeks Biggest Loser? The Free Market at ToughMoneyLove- Things are likely changing forever in our economy, and I am not sure if that is a good thing.

Thanks for the mention on your site! BTW – I like your theme! I upgraded to thesis early last week and love it so far.
