Well, another bad week with my web host, Dreamhost (Think Nightmare!) This week was even worse than last, with about 8 or more hours of downtime each day. If I knew what I was doing, I would have tried to transfer my hosting plan. I will likely look into it in the near future.
I did manage to participate in one carnival this week. Stock Trading To Go hosted the Carnival of Personal Finance #146-Online Broker Tips Edition, and included my article “No Credit Needed or Reward Cards? Determine Your Personal Credit Card Usage Risk”. Take some time to check out the articles.

Hey RC! Thanks for the mention. Toastmasters has also helped my career. I can’t wait until I stop dreading the meetings though…
I was on Dreamhost too up until about a week ago. I signed up with Dreamhost in december 2007, and the load on the server I was on was sky high and my site’s performance was horrible. They assured me they would fix it, and even offered to transfer me to another server that performed better. I asked them to go ahead and move me to the new server, and they then pushed back and asked me to give it until the end of the week. Well, 2 months later the performance was still horrible and I bit the bullet and transferred to hostgator.com.
So far hostgator has been great. They have a few differences from Dreamhost which took some getting used too (they have a different webpanel, and their ssh has more limited functionality), but my pages load faster and downtime has been zero.
I’d recommend to get away from Dreamhost ASAP. Life has been so much better since I’ve decided to pull a late nighter and make the switch.

Thanks for the heads up. I am definitely going to be looking into an alternative for hosting in the very near future.

Hi, I was w/DH for a year, I stayed because I prepaid for that year.
My site was down a lot until they moved me to a different server (because I was rather upset about the downtime), and then things were ok for the most part – not as much downtime.
I transferred to Bluehost last month. Only thing I’d suggest is when you transfer, do it at least 2 weeks before your current plan w/DH is up to allow for complete DNS propagation….I wasn’t thinking of that (but I learned!
) and waited until the last week of my plan expiration at DH. It all worked out in the end but was a little stressful.
Good luck!
