Thanks to NCN at No Credit Needed for hosting the Festival of Frugality #114 and including my post  Use Extreme Measures to Eliminate Debt or Increase Savings. Very well put together.

Also thanks to Broke Grad Student for hosting the the Carnival of Personal Finance #141-The College Years Edition, and including my post Investment Advice from Warren Buffet’s Mentor-Words of Wisdom from Benjamin Graham. An excellent job with the carnival as well.

Here are a few articles I enjoyed during the past week:

Pinyo at Moolanomy discusses navigating to the right life insurance choices in a 3 part series. Like him, I am concerned with only having life insurance through my employer and am beginning to look into other options.

Trent at The Simple Dollar has an ongoing “Investing in Yourself ” series. One of my favorites was Public Speaking. Public Speaking, because so many people are afraid to do it, is really one area where you can “rise above the pack” at work or in your professional career.  In the past few years I have done it several times, and once you get over your fear (although you may always get a little nervous) it is really not so bad.

  1. Thank you for the shout out. I am planning to do a part 4 soon. It will be a walk through on how to get to a better coverage number. The checklist I worked on with the agent was good, but I think I am still not at the right number.
