It is a tax-free holiday this weekend in Louisiana for the purchase of hurricane preparedness items, so it got me thinking about updating my list from 2008 of states with tax free holidays.
Many states have tax free (state tax free, to be specific) holidays, or days where you can purchase certain categories of items without having to pay state sales tax. It may not always amount to much, but it is still better than having to pay the tax.
Below is an updated list of states with tax-free holidays in 2009.

Every day is a tax-free holiday in PA on clothing and food – wheeeeeeee…….
Not that I buy any clothing. And I don’t pay for the food around here. Just felt like throwing it out there.
