Weekend Roundup- Enough With the Storms Already Edition

by RC on September 15, 2008

The gulf coast area has been taking a pounding, with Faye dumping rain across Florida a few weeks ago, Gustav hitting south Louisiana, Hannah running up the east coast last weekend, and now Ike hitting the Galveston and Houston area on Friday night. Please keep all those who got flooded or received storm damage in your thoughts and prayers. Hopefully some of the cool weather will start dropping down to the southern US keeping anymore from hitting this year.

I participated in 3 carnivals this past week:

Banker Girl hosted the Carnival of Personal Finance and included my article “25 Smart Budget and Money Saving Tips for College Students”.

My favorites from the COPF:

Should you delay your social security benefits? at Moolanomy-Good insight into the issues involved with when you should start taking SS benefits.

How to save like a madman by Prime Time Money-Great tips for getting “intense” with saving money!

The Mighty Bargain Hunter hosted the windy and rainy Carnival of Debt Reduction at the Carnival’s home page and included my article “If You Want to Stay in Debt Forever, Don’t Bother Reading this Article”

My favorites from the CODR:

Three R’s of debt reduction at My Daily Dollars-good tips on not sliding back into the ways that got you into debt in the first place.

Overspending with cash at Living Almost Large-it may just be your habits causing you to overspend.

Living Almost Large also hosted the Money Hacks Carnival #29-Food Heaven Edition which included my article “Grouping Tasks to Save Both Time and Money”

My favorites from the MH Carnival:

How to Save Money on Prescription Drugs at Five Cent Nickel-Good tips, I’ve used several of these myself.

Check Engine Light On? Get it Diagnosed Free posted at Cash Money Life-Good idea to save a few bucks, I am a big fan of DIY when it comes to cars, getting your check engine light diagnosed can be a big help.
