Weekend Roundup- Evacuation from Hurricane Gustav Edition

by RC on August 31, 2008

I had originally intended on posting an article about my experiences with Hurricane Katrina this past Friday (3 year anniversary), and what that taught me about both money and life. Unfortunately, as frequently happens, life got in the way this week. I was sick, both of the kids were sick earlier in the week, and then work reared its ugly head as well as a hurricane named Gustav. I am getting the “heck out of dodge” early this morning, evacuating myself, and family out of harm’s way. Hope for the best, and prepare for the worst, as they say. Since I do not have a laptop computer, this coming week will likely be light on posting. I ‘ll be back later in the week. Will try to update as soon as possible.

I participated in 3 carnivals over the last week:

Broke Grad Student hosted the Carnival of Personal Finance # 167.

Fire Finance hosted the Festival of Frugality #140.

PF Buzz hosted the Money Hacks Carnival #27.
