Weekend Roundup- Summer Olympics Edition

by RC on August 10, 2008

The Olympic Games kicked off this past weekend, I’ve watched a little but just haven’t gotten into it like I used to in the past. I’ll probably watch more in the coming week, though.

I joined Twitter this past week, so if you use Twitter, follow me and I’ll follow you as well. If you haven’t tried Twitter yet, check it out. Also, the Mighty Bargain Hunter posted a list of 118 Twitter users who blog about money. So check it out to find some of your favorite PF bloggers on Twitter!

I participated in 2 carnivals last week:

Mighty Bargain Hunter hosted the Carnival of Debt Reduction #151 and included my post “35 Ways to Kick Start Your Debt Snowball” as an editor’s pick!

My favorites from the Carnival:

NCN gives 5 Free and Inexpensive Ways to Reduce Your Debt.

Credit Withdrawal talks about getting over the low-motivation times in debt reduction.

Frugal homemaker Plus hosted the Festival of Frugality #137 and included my post “Added Benefits Besides Saving Money of Bringing Your Lunch to Work”

My favorites from the FOF:

Free Money Finance shows us how he saves money on greeting cards.

Not Made of Money tells us how to enjoy fun activities that don’t cost a dime.

I also participated in the Money Life Network’s Group Project, “Frugal Things to Do In….” series with my article “Frugal Things to Do in New Orleans”. Check out the series and map to find frugal things to do in a city near you!
